LAKE WALES, Fla. – The SCAD men's soccer team picked up its fifth win of the season with a 3-2 win over Warner University on Saturday.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 5-4-2, 4-3-1 SUN, while the Royals are 2-7-2, 0-5-2 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Less than 10 minutes into the game, SCAD scored the first goal when
Phillip Holtgen found the back of the net to give SCAD the 1-0 lead.
Neither team scored for the remainder of the first half.
Four minutes into the second half,
Ryan Holmes made it a 2-0 game with an assist from
Phillip Holtgen. The Bees took a 3-0 lead in the 52
nd minute when
Giovanny Lares, off an assist from
Ryan Holmes scored.
Warner scored the last two goals of the game, but it was not enough as SCAD held on to earn the 3-2 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Bees totaled 12 shots, seven on goal, while only allowing Warner five shots on goal.
Phillip Holtgen,
Ryan Holmes, and
Giovanny Lares scored one goal each with Holtgen and Holmes adding an assist.
Goalie
Connor Friel totaled three saves in his 90 minutes of work.
