WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 5 SCAD women's soccer team remains unbeaten as they play to a 1-1 draw at No. 18 Keiser University.
RECORDS: The Bees are 12-0-1, 8-0-1 SUN, while the Seahawks are 6-4-3, 4-3-2 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite missing two midfield starters and strong winds, and a first half where the Bees managed only one shot, the game remained scoreless going into halftime.
Keiser was the first team to get on the board in the 54
th minute to go up 1-0.
At the 82:20-mark, SCAD made it a tie game when
Mia Nelson found the back of the net.
Jule Stendebach won the ball on a SCAD throw and got the ball to
Abigail Siddall in the middle of the pitch who sent it on to
Ines Sommer towards the top right of the box. Sommer found an approaching
Mia Nelson who was able to put it away for the 1-1 tie.
Neither team scored for the remainder of the half to end the game at one-all.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Mia Nelson led the offense totaling one goal on one shot.
Abigail Siddall and
Ines Sommer picked up one assist each.
A strong Bees defense held the Seahawks to only five shots on goal with goalie
Katelynn Balsiger totaling four saves in her 90 minutes of work.
