No. 18 SCAD Women’s Soccer Earns 4-2 Win Over Life on Sunday

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The SCAD women's soccer team earned a win on Sunday morning with a 4-2 defeat of Life University.
 
RECORDS
  • The Bees are now 6-1-0.
  • The Running Eagles are now 0-2-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first goal of the game came in the sixth minute when Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture) passed a through ball to Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich. / Fibers) who broke away from the defense and shot it past the goalie on the bottom left.
  • The second goal was in the second half of the game at the 52nd minute mark when Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television) took a pass from Ida Akesson (Loddekopinge, Sweden / Graphic Design) and beat her defender on the left of the goal. Siddall snuck the ball past the goalie on the bottom right of the goal to give SCAD the 2-0 lead.
  • The Bees third goal came from Jule Stendebach (Kelkheim, Hessen, Germany / Undeclared) when she scored off a corner kick from Baldursdottir, finding the back of the net on the bottom right side.
  • Life was able to score only two goals in the second half.
  • Wrapping up the game Chura was able to score with an open shot to the right side of the goal giving SCAD the 4-2 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Chura led the offense with two goals, one assist, and six shots.
  • Siddall had one goal with four shots and Stendebach had one goal with two shots.
  • Baldursdottir had two assists for the Bees and one shot. Emily Miller (Apex, N.C. / Advertising and Branding) had two shots during the game followed by Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) with one shot.
  • Akesson was the key defender in today's game with one assist, one shot, creating many opportunities for other players and helped hold Life to only four shots on goal.
  • Goalie Zoe Goodale (Coppell, Texas / Undeclared) had two saves in her 90-minutes of work.

The Bees will host Middle Georgia State University on September 16th at 5:00 p.m. at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
