Box Score BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The No. 6 SCAD women's tennis defeated No. 19 St. Thomas University 4-2 at the Sun Conference Championship on Thursday, April 28th.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 9-3, 4-2 SUN while the Bobcats are 12-11, 3-3 SUN.
DOUBLES ACTION: The Bees won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point. Alessia Piccoliori and Francina Llompart won 6-3 at number one doubles while Priya Sukkanha and Yue Yu won 5-3 at number two doubles. Britain Botsford and Tova Tilk Tobrand won 6-1 at number three doubles.
SINGLES ACTION: Priya Sukkanha (Nonthaburi, Thailand / Fashion Marketing and Management) won 6-0, 6-3 at number one singles while Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) won 6-2, 7-6 with a tie breaker of 6-3 at number two singles.
At number six singles, Britain Botsford (Delray Beach, Fla. / Film and Television) won 6-2, 0-6, 6-3 to give SCAD their final point.
Unfortunately, Alessia Piccoliori (S. Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) fell 3-6, 5-7 at number three singles and Tova Tilk Tobrand (Gothenburg, Sweden / User Experience (UX) Design) lost 1-6, 0-6 at number five singles.
SCAD's points were scored with enough time that Francina Llompart (Palma De Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) did not have to finish her match. Her match scores included 4-6, 6-3, 2-1 unfinished.
