MARIETTA, Ga. – The SCAD men's bowling team won the first Tier 1 of the season with a first-place finish at the Tier 1 Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic over the weekend. The women's team finished in second place overall.
 
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day tournament consisted of six individual games followed by 24 baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner.
 
MEN'S TEAM RESULTS: After day one, the men's team was in first place, out of the field of 26, with a total pinfall of 5972, 72 points ahead of Tennessee Southern.
 
The Bees had a total pinfall of 5023 on day two to total 10995 overall to win the event. SCAD had 291 points more than the second-place finisher, Webber International University.
 
MEN'S INDIVIDUAL RESULTS: Julian Salinas (Houston, Texas / User Experience (UX) Design) finished the six individual games with a total pinfall of 1332 (222.0 avg.) to place second. This finish earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
 
Tyrell Ingalls (Grand Island, N.Y. / Sound Design) had a total pinfall of 1187 (197.8 avg.) to finish in 15^th.  
WOMEN'S TEAM RESULTS: The women's team led the 19-team field after day one of the Bowlero Southern Classic with a total pinfall of 5604. Tennessee Southern was in second with a total pinfall of 5538.
 
The Bees finished the tournament in second place with a total pinfall of 9667, while Tennessee Southern won the event with a pinfall of 10008.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to the Tier 1 National Collegiate Match Games on November 19-20 at the St. Clair Bowling Center in St. Louis, Mo.
