HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 12 SCAD women's soccer team earned their seventh shutout win as they defeated Webber International at home Thursday night.
RECORDS
- The Bees are now 12-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 SUN.
- The Warriors are 7-2-2, 2-1-2 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emily Miller (Apex, N.C. / Advertising and Branding) scored SCAD's first goal off an assist from Noel Thompson (Chesapeake, Va. / Graphic Design) within the first five minutes of the game.
- The second goal came at the eight-minute mark from Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) assisted by Filippa Bjare (Saltsjobaden, Stockholm, Sweden / Architecture) followed by a goal from Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television) assisted by Sommer only 11-minutes later.
- To finish off the first half, Sommer, assisted by Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture), scored the last goal to give SCAD a 4-0 lead at the break.
- Sommer was able to score two more consecutive goals to start off the second half, with one assist from Siddall.
- Siddall, assisted by Jule Stendebach (Kelkheim, Hessen, Germany / Undeclared), Julia Rauch (Offenburg, Germany / Architecture) assisted by Alyssa Smtih (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Advertising and Branding), and Nina Otto (McLean, Va. / User Experience (UX) Design) assisted by Emmie Dezoort (Forsyth, Ga. / Painting) were able to get the Bees the final three goals to finish the game 9-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SCAD's defense held the Warriors to only four shots, two on goal, with goalie Zoe Goodall (Coppell, Texas / Undeclared) totaling two saves.
- Leading the Bees' offense, Sommer had four goals on seven shots with one assist followed by Siddall with two goals on four shots and one assist.
- Miller and Rauch had one goal on one shot while Otto had one goal on two shots.
- Baldursdottir totaled one assist and two shots
- Bjare and Stendebach had one assist and one shot each.
- Smith, Dezoort and Thompson both had one assist.
- Mia Gomez (Austin, Texas / Graphic Design & Advertising and Branding) totaled one shot.
