AVE MARIA, Fla. – The No. 12 SCAD women's soccer team earned its sixth shutout of the season with its 4-0 win at Ave Maria on Monday.
RECORDS
- The Bees are now 11-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in SUN action.
- The Gyrenes are 4-4-4, 1-2-1 SUN.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just under 30 minutes into the game, Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television), off an assist from Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture), scored the first goal of the game to give the Bees a 1-0 lead.
- With just over three minutes remaining in the half, Lane Lieberman (Chevy Chase, Md. / Visual Communication) scored off a penalty kick to give SCAD a 2-0 lead going into the half.
- Siddall scored her second goal of the game at the 77:46 mark off an assist from Baldursdottir to go up 3-0.
- Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television), off an assist from Mia Gomez (Austin, Texas / Graphic Design & Advertising and Branding), scored the last goal of the game in the 88th minute to give SCAD the 4-0 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Bees' defense held the Gyrenes to only eight shots, three on goal, with goalies Zoe Goodale (Coppell, Texas) and Paige Hickman (Aurora, Colo.) totaling two saves and one save, respectively.
- Siddall led the offense for the Bees, totaling two goals on four shots.
- Baldursdottir tallied two assists while Gomez added one.
- Liberman and Sommer totaled one goal each.
