Box Score NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The No. 6 SCAD women's tennis team upset No. 5 Union College 4-2 on Friday to advance to the Championship round of the NAIA National Indoor Championship.

RECORDS: The Bees improve to 2-0 on the season while the Bulldogs are now 1-1.

DOUBLES ACTION: SCAD dropped the doubles point as Union won at the numbers one and three doubles positions.

Yu and Sukkanha lost 2-6 at number one doubles while Tilk Tobrand and Botsford fell 1-6 at number three.

Piccoliori and Llompart were up 5-3 at number two doubles when the doubles point was won by the Bulldogs.

SINGLES ACTION: Britain Botsford (Delray Beach, Fla. / Film and Television) gave the Bees their first point of the match when she won 6-3, 6-1 at number six singles to knot the score at one-all.

SCAD went down 2-1 when Priya Sukkanha (Nothaburi, Thailand / Fashion Marketing and Management) lost 1-6, 3-6 at number one singles but a win by Alessia Piccoliori (S.Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) (6-1, 6-3) tied the match at 2-2.

Union took a 3-2 lead with a 4-6, 3-6 loss by Francina Llompart (Palma De Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) at number four singles. However, Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) and Nicole Katzarkov (Germantown, Tenn. / Preservation Design) clinched the win for the Bees with their 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2 and 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 wins at the numbers two and five singles positions, respectively.
