TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The SCAD women's soccer team traveled to Florida College on Friday and are returning home with a dominating 3-0 win over the Falcons.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 3-2-0 while the Falcons fall to 0-2-0.
DID YOU KNOW? SCAD took 39 shots, half of which were on goal while the Bees defense held Florida College to only one shot the entire game.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees came out hot, with
Jenny Caracheo (Royse City, Texas / Luxury and Fashion Management) taking the first shot just 19 seconds into the first half.
Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich.) put the Bees on the board with her goal off an assist by Caracheo and
Sam Wong (Fort Worth, Texas / Interior Design) at the 19:38 mark.
Just over 14 minutes later, Chura found the back of the net again, this time off an assist from
Zoe Kennedy (Rock Hill, S.C. / Immersive Reality) to give SCAD the 2-0 lead.
The Falcons took their only shot in the 42
n minute and SCAD answered with three more shots to end the half.
In the 78
th minute,
Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) scored the last goal of the game, assisted by
Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture).
BOX SCORE: Chura totaled two goals, nine shots, four of which were on goal.
Baldursdottir tallied six shots and one assist while, Caracheo,
Pauline Watta (Rheine, Germany), and
Nina Otto (McLean, Va. / User Experience (UX) Design) took four shots each with all four of Caracheo's shots going on goal and she had one assist. Wong totaled one assist and two shots.
