Women’s Soccer Falls 4-1 to No. 1 William Carey

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The SCAD women's soccer team traveled to Lawrenceville, Ga. and faced No. 1 William Carey on the first day of the Southern States Challenge, falling 4-1 in the match-up.
 
RECORDS
  • The Bees are now .500 on the season with a 3-3-0 record.
  • The Crusaders improve to 7-0-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first 17 minutes of the game remained scoreless with the Bees' defense holding strong. At the 17:32 mark, William Carey scored the first goal of the game.
  • A penalty-kick in the 36th minute gave the Crusaders a 2-0 lead. William Carey scored two more goals in the half to go into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
  • The SCAD defense was a force to be reckoned with in the second half, holding the Crusaders to half the number of shots they took in the first half and no goals.
  • In the 82nd minute, Natalia Zapata (Suwanee, Ga. / Fashion) scored the Bees' lone goal off an assist from Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture).
