Women’s Soccer Overcomes No. RV Georgia Gwinnett

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The SCAD women's soccer team hosted No. RV Georgia Gwinnett on Saturday and won 3-1.

  • The Bees improve to 5-3 overall.
  • The Grizzlies are now 6-4 on the season.

  • This is the second team that is receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll in which SCAD has defeated.
  • The Bees won 2-0 against then No. RV Middle Georgia State University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Georgia Gwinnett scored the first goal at the 16:07 mark.
  • Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich.) off an assist from Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television) tied the game with 24:09 on the clock.
  • Three minutes later, Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) gave the Bees a 2-1 lead when she found the back of the net off an assist from Siddall.
  • Sidall scored the insurance goal with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half off an assist from Pauline Watta (Rheine, Germany).
  • Despite taking SCAD taking three shots and Georgia Gwinnett taking five, neither team scored for the remainder of the game and the Bees earned the 3-1 victory.
