QUICK GOAL: The SCAD men's soccer team fought through 110 minutes and tied Brewton-Parker at home on Tuesday night.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-0-1 while the Barons are 0-2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD controlled the first 15 minutes of action, but it was Brewton-Parker who scored the first goal at the 30:26 mark to go up 1-0, a lead that was held for the remainder of the first half.
Phillip Holtgen (Munich, Germany / Industrial Design) tied the game off an assist from
Caio Lara (Richmond Hill, Ga. / Architecture) in the 79
th minute and it would be the last goal for the remainder of the game.
Ty Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica / Advertising and Branding) took SCAD's last chance to score at the 84:42 when his header was saved by the Baron's goalie. Time ran out as neither team had an opportunity to score.
In the first overtime, the Bees totaled three shots to the Barons' zero with two going on goal. In the second overtime, Brewton-Parker took the only shot which was saved by SCAD's
Connor Friel (Ballymena, Northern Ireland / Advertising and Branding) to end the game at 1-1.
BOX SCORE: Holtgen scored SCAD's only goal with Lara picking up the assist.
Lewis Gamble (Airdrie, Scotland, Advertising and Branding) and
Matteo Tizzano (London, United Kingdom / Advertising and Branding) totaled five shots while
Giovanny Lares (Savannah, Ga.) and Bennett totaled three each.
Friel tallied three saves in 110 minutes of work.
