Three Goals for Men’s Soccer Leads to Second Straight Shutout

QUICK GOAL: The SCAD men's soccer team defeated Middle Georgia State 3-0 on the road Friday night.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 2-0-0 while the Knights fall to 0-2-0.
 
DID YOU KNOW? This is the second-straight game in which SCAD has not allowed a goal.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees scored early when Phillip Holtgen (Munich, Germany / Industrial Design) found the back of the net in the seventh minute.
 
Neither team scored for the remainder of the half and the Bees took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Ty Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica / Advertising and Branding) gave SCAD the 2-0 lead at the 52:26 mark and then Jesus Ulloa (Savannah, Ga. / Graphic Design) scored the last goal of the game in the 66th minute off an assist from Lewis Gamble (Airdrie, Scotland / Advertising and Branding).
 
BOX SCORE: J. Ulloa totaled five shots, two on goal, and one goal while Bennett totaled three shots, two on goal, and one goal. Holtgen tallied two shots, both on goal while Matteo Tizzano (London, United Kingdom / Advertising and Branding) and Gamble each had one shot on goal.
 
Goalie Connor Friel (Ballymena, Northern Ireland / Advertising and Branding) earned the win with three saves in his 90 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: The Bees return home to host Brewton-Parker in their home opener on Tuesday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m.
