QUICK GOAL: The SCAD women's soccer team traveled to Shorter University on Saturday and won 8-0.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 2-0-0 while the Hawks are 0-1-0 to start the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The offensive charge started in the second minute when Jenny Caracheo (Royse City, Texas / Luxury and Fashion Management) scored off an assist from Emily Miller (Cary, N.C. / Advertising and Branding).
 
Ines Sommer () gave the Bees a 2-0 lead when she scored off an assist from Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich.) and Caracheo at the 18:16 mark. The third, and last, goal of the first half came from Natalia Zapata (Suwanee, Ga. / Fashion) in the 35^th minute as SCAD went into the half up 3-0.
 
Zapata, off an assist from Chura, opened the scoring in the second half after just under three minutes of action.
 
Back-to-back goals from Miller gave the Bees a 6-0 lead at the 66:52 mark. Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture) scored the last two goals – Sophia Valentin (Long Beach, N.Y. / Illustration) assisted the first – of the game to ultimately give SCAD the 8-0 win.
 
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Hawks 42-2 with 23 of them on goal. SCAD's defense held Shorter to only one shot on goal and allowed no shots in the second half.
 
Baldursdottir led the offense with eight shots, six on goal and two goals.
 
Miller and Zapata totaled two goals each while Caracheo and Sommer added one. Chura totaled four assists while Caracheo had two.
 
Goalie Paige Hickman (Aurora, Colo. / Animation) totaled one save in her 90 minutes of work.
