QUICK GOAL: The No. 1 SCAD women's lacrosse team continues its winning ways as it defeated St. Andrews University 18-8 in the last home game of the season on Tuesday.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 5-1, 5-1 AAC on the season while the Knights are 6-5, 5-2 AAC.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the fifth game this season in which SCAD has defeated its opponent by 10 or more goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Not even two minutes into the game,
Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion Marketing) gave the Bees a 1-0 lead. Seven seconds later, the Knights tied the game, it would be the closest St. Andrews would come to leading for the remainder of the game.
Sophia Milia (Birmingham, Mich. / Business of Beauty & Fragrance) and
Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) scored the next four goals (two each) to give SCAD a 5-1 lead with 19:21 remaining in the half.
The Knights scored the next three of four goals –
Allison Thierry (Stevensville, Md. / Interior Design) scored at the 16:07 mark – to cut the lead to 6-4 with 12:33 on the clock.
Milia scored off a pass from Thierry to give the Bees a 7-4 lead and Thierry followed with two more goals with the last coming off an assist from Milia to increase the lead to five (9-4).
SCAD scored three more goals –
Brielle Bouchard, Milia,
Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) – to St. Andrew's two to take a 12-6 lead into the half.
Once again, Jackson opened the scoring as she found the back of the net off a pass from Thierry with 28:07 on the clock.
Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture), Thierry (2) and
Tatum Crouch (Easton, Md. / Fashion Marketing and Management) (2) scored the remaining five goals to the Knights two, to earn the 18-8 win.
BOX SCORE: Thierry led the offensive charge with a game-high five goals, a game-high three assists to equal eight points. The senior also added one ground ball.
Milia totaled four goals and one assist for five points to go along with one caused turnover. Jackson, Haas and Crouch all totaled two goals with Jackson adding two assists while Haas and De Caro added one apiece.
Crouch totaled a game-high caused turnovers with six, coming within one of tying a program record. The junior also added three ground balls and one draw control.
Goalie
Tracy Richard (Poway, Calif. / Visual Effects) tallied 13 saves, three caused turnovers and two ground balls in her 60 minutes of work.
Plume,
Sydney Bowers (Lake Worth, Fla. / Film and Television) and
Katie Rowell (Waldwick, N.J. / Industrial Design) each had two caused turnovers while Milia, De Caro, Bouchard,
Kambria Barry (Orlando, Fla. / Interior Design) and
Ainelsy Jones (Harvard, Mass. / Graphic Design) added one.
