QUICK STORY: The No. 6 SCAD women's tennis team competed in The Sun Conference Tournament Final on Friday morning and lost 4-0 to No. 2 Keiser University.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-2 overall while the Seahawks improve to 12-1.
DOUBLES ACTION: Haley Morrissey (Frisco, Texas / Animation) and
Hana Ahmed (Cairo, Egypt) fell 6-1 at number three doubles while
Tova Tilk Tobrand (Gothenburg, Sweden / Industrial Design) and
Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) lost 6-2 in the number two position.
Priya Sukkanha (Nothaburi, Thailand / Fashion) and
Eika Johanna Weber (Oslo, Norway / Industrial Design) were up 4-2 at number one doubles when play was halted due to Keiser clinching the doubles point.
SINGLES ACTION: Ahmed lost 6-0, 6-0 at number six singled which gave the Seahawks a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, Keiser clinched the win with wins in the numbers three and five singles positions.
Morrissey lost 6-1, 6-1 at number three singles while Tobrand lost 6-1, 6-2 at number five.
Sukkanha was up 6-3, 1-2 at number one singles when the match was called while Yu was down 0-6, 2-5 at number two singles and Weber was down 4-6, 0-4 at the number four position.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will look to see if they will earn an at-large bid to the 2021 NAIA National Championship being held on May 18-22 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
