HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD opened the game when
Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) scored within the first 15 seconds off an assist from
Allison Thierry (Stevensville, Md. / Interior Design). Truett McConnell responded with back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead with 27:11 on the clock.
The Bees answered with seven goals from three different athletes –
Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) (3),
Sophia Milia (Birmingham, Mich. / Business of Beauty & Fragrance) (2), and De Caro (2) – to go up 8-2 before the Bears scored again to bring the score to 8-3 with 20:29 remaining in the half.
SCAD went on to out-score Truett McConnell 8-4 to take a 16-7 lead into the half.
The Bees opened the second half with three goals from Thierry, Haas and
Tatum Crouch (Easton, Md. / Fashion Marketing and Management) in less than 10 minutes to increase their lead to 12 (19-7).
The Bears managed to score two more goals as Crouch, De Caro,
Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture), Thierry and
Olivia Jackson (York, Pa. / Fashion Marketing) each scored to give SCAD the 24-9 win.
BOX SCORE: Milia totaled a game-high 11 points as she scored four goals and tallied seven assists.
De Caro totaled a game-high seven goals, to go along with one assist, while Haas totaled five goals and two assists for seven points. Crouch added four goals and two assists while Thierry tallied two goals and one assist, Plume totaled one goal and one assist, and Jackson added one goal.
Grace Gibson (Kennesaw, Ga. / Architecture) picked up a game-high five ground balls while Crouch and Plume tied a game-high seven draw controls.
Goalie
Tracy Richards (Poway, Calif. / Visual Effects) earned the win with nine saves in 60 minutes of action.
