Men’s Lacrosse Wins Big at Home

QUICK GOAL: The SCAD men's lacrosse team came out hard and fast at home on Saturday, winning 27-5 over Point University.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 2-0, 2-0 AAC while the Skyhawks fall to 0-4, 0-4 AAC.
 
DID YOU KNOW? Senior Elliot Fish (Toronto, Ontario, Canada / Film & Television) broke the single game assists record with six assists in today's contest. The previous record of five was previously held by Fish and Wolf Zachar (Springfield, Va. / Industrial Design).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD jumped to a quick 3-0 lead with Zachar scoring first at the 11:41 mark. Fish scored just over a minute later while Zachar scored his second with 9:25 left in the quarter.
 
Point scored its only goal at the 8:50 mark and the Bees answered with five more goals from Fish, Michael Mowers, Zachar (2), and Sean Parmer (South Elgin, Ill. / Architecture) to lead the Skyhawks 8-1 to end the first quarter.
 
SCAD dominated the second quarter, scoring 11 goals to Point's two to take a 19-3 lead into the half. Parmer (3), Dalton Rice (Palm Coast, Fla. / Production Design), Seth Leister (Palm Coast, Fla. / User Experience (UX) Design), Jake Kozak (Bel Air, Md. / Sequential Art), Kevin Curry (Millsboro, Conn.), Zachar, Jack Coulombe (Hurst, Texas / Film and Television) (2), and Fish contributed to those 11 goals. Fish (3), Zachar (2) and Parmer added assists as well.
 
The Bees outscored the Skyhawks 6-1 in the third quarter to go up 25-4. Zachar (2), Parmer, Derek Amoth (Hopkinton, N.H. / Industrial Design) and JT Smith (West End, N.C. / User Experience (UX) Design) (back-to-back) all found the net.
 
Coulombe and Amoth rounded out the scoring for the Bees in the fourth quarter for the 27-5 win.
 
BOX SCORE: Zachar and Fish led the offense with Zachar totaling seven goals and two assists to tie Fish in a game-high nine points. Fish tallied three goals and six assists for nine points.
 
Parmer added five goals and three assists for eight points while Coulombe had three goals and one assist. Amoth and Smith totaled two goals with Amoth adding one assist. Rice, Leister, Mowers, Curry and Kozak all tallied one goal.
 
Smsith and Curry both went 11-17 at face off while Parmer totaled a team-high five ground balls. Smith, Mowers, Curry, Kozak and Kyle Beckmann (Murphy, Texas / Visual Effects) tallied four ground balls each with Noah Rivaz (Cypress, Texas / Illustration) nabbing three and Fish and Rice adding two apiece.
Fish caused a game-high three turnovers with Parmer and Rivaz adding two.
 
Goalies Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design), Ross Wiseman (Loveland, Ohio / Animation), and Nicholas Vittitow (Cumming, Ga. / Interactive Design/Game Development) split time in the cage and nabbed six, five and three saves, respectively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees hit the road for a mid-week road match-up at St. Andrews University on Thursday, March 25th. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
