No. RV Women’s Soccer Holds No. 2 Keiser to Two Goals

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD women's soccer team hosted No. 2 Keiser University on Thursday night and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Seahawks.

  • The Bees are now 6-4-1, 1-1-1 SUN
  • Keiser improves to 8-1-0, 3-0-0 SUN
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game remained scoreless until the 24th minute when the Seahawks scored off a free kick.
  • After the goal, SCAD's defense held Keiser to only four shots for the remainder of the half, none of which equaled a goal as the Bees went into the half trailing by one (1-0).
  • SCAD came out fast in the second half, totaling five shots to the Seahawks' zero with the last coming at the 53:03 mark on a penalty kick from Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich.).
  • Despite a great shot by Chura, Keiser's Grace McClellan managed the save.
  • Neither team scored for 20 minutes until Keiser at the 73:19 mark.
  • The Bees totaled two more shots but neither found the mark as the Seahawks won 2-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture), Jenny Caracheo (Royse City, Texas / Luxury and Fashion Management), Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) and Chura all totaled three shots, two on goal.
  • Goalie Eliana Charalambous (Manassas, Va. / Graphic Design) came up big, making eight saves in her 90 minutes of work.
