No. RV Women’s Soccer Ends Regular Season on High Note

BLUFFTON, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD women's soccer team traveled up the road to the University of South Carolina Beaufort and won 4-3 in the last regular season game of the year.
 
DID YOU KNOW?
  • The Bees finished the regular season as the No. 3 team and will host the first-round of The Sun Conference Championship on November 6.
  • This is the first time since 2016 in which SCAD has hosted a SUN tournament game.
RECORDS
  • The Bees end the regular season with a 11-5-1, 6-2-1 SUN record.
  • The Sand Sharks are 10-7-1, 4-4-1 SUN.
HOW DID IT HAPPEN?
  • Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television) attacked first with a goal at the 1:17 mark off an assist from Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich.) to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) scored 26 minutes later off an assist from Siddall to give the Bees a 2-0 lead into the second half.
  • Sommer scored again, five minutes into the second half to go up 3-0.
  • Unfortunately, USCB scored back-to-back-to-back goals to knot the game at three-all with the last goal coming in the 62nd minute.
  • Chura scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 80th minute to give SCAD the 4-3 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Chura totaled five shots and one goal and tallied one assist while Sommer went two for two, scoring two goals.
  • Siddall totaled two shots, with one goal and one assist. Berglind Baldursdottir (Piedmont, Calif. / Motion Media Design) had three shots while Jenny Caracheo (Royse City, Texas / Luxury and Fashion Management) totaled two shots.
  • Goalie Eliana Charalambous (Manassas, Va. / Graphic Design) nabbed five saves in her 90 minutes of work.
WHAT'S NEXT?
  • The Bees will host Webber International in the first round of The Sun Conference Championship on Saturday, November 6. Time to be determined.
