ROME, Ga. – The SCAD women's tennis player sent three athletes to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. October 14-17.
 
Yue Yu (Dalian, China / Illustration) competed in singles while Francina Llompart (Palma De Mallorca, Spain / Interior Design) and Alessia Piccoliori (S.Cristina (BZ), Italy / Graphic Design) competed in doubles.
 
DAY 1

• Yu lost to the No. 3 (NAIA Rank) from Union
  • Lost to Teodora Jovic 3-6, 4-6
• Llompart/Piccoliori won with a comeback over Xavier (La.)
  • Def. Muhammad/Clarke 4-6, 6-2, 10-6

DAY 2

• In singles, Yu defeated Keiser in the back-draw to advance.
  • Def. Vanja Vidanovic 6-1, 7-5
• Llompart/Piccoliori lost to the No. 1 seed from Georgia Gwinnett.
  • Lost to Genovese/Fernandez

DAY 3

• Yu continued to win, defeating Indiana Wesleya.
  • Def. Maddie Benisderfer 6-2, 6-3
• Llompart/Piccoliori defeated Indiana Wesleyan with a tie break.
  • Def. Golz/Bemisderfer 4-6, 7-6 (9), 11-9

COACH ONO

• "This has been a great experience for the ladies" states Coach Karina Ono. "I am very proud of these girls; they've shown how much potential we have for a great Winter/Spring 2022 season."
