No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Ends Weekend with Two Wins

QUICK SCORE: The No. 1 SCAD women's lacrosse team spent the weekend on the road and are returning home with a 25-2 win over Montreat College and a 24-17 win over No. 5 Reinhardt University.
 
RECORD: The Bees are now 6-0, 3-0 AAC overall to open the season.
 
DID YOU KNOW? SCAD has scored more than 19 goals in every game this season, with five of those games rising above 23 goals.
 
Sydney Knego hit the 300 mark in both points and draw controls in the Bees' 24-17 win over Reinhardt while Jordan Mitchell hit the 100-goal mark.

BOX SCORE: Mackenzie DeMott (Dix Hills, N.Y. / Fashion) led the offense with six goals and one assist for seven points. 
 
Allison Thierry (Stevensville, Md. / Interior Design) totaled four goals and one assist for five points while Sydney Knego (Potomac Falls, Va. / Advertising and Branding) and Grace Boyer (Stevensville, Md. / Interior Design) totaled three goals each with Boyer totaling three assists as well. Knego also added seven draw controls and two caused turnovers.
 
Jordan Mitchell (Tualatin, Ore. / Photography) nabbed a game-high eight points with three goals and five assists to go along with five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.
 
Lily McCormick (Birmingham, Ala. / Film and Television) and Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) had two goals each while Tatum Crouch (Easton, Md. / Fashion Marketing and Management) and Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture) added one goal. De Caro and Crouch also totaled two assists each.
 
Goalies Tracy Richards (Poway, Calif. / Visual Effects) and Haley McCullough (Lititz, Pa. / Illustration) had two and four saves, respectively and one ground ball each.

CAREER MILESTONES: Sydney Knego broke a program record for single game draw controls with 19. The previous record of 15 was set by Knego herself, twice last season.
 
Knego also surpassed 300 career draw controls (312) with her seventh draw control of the game. The senior also surpasses 300 points with her fifth goal of the game with 55 seconds remaining in the first half. At the end of the game, Knego recorded 10 points which places her at 304.
 
Jordan Mitchell surpassed 100 career goals with the first goal of the second half. The junior finished the game with three goals, giving her 101 total goals.
 
BOX SCORE: Knego led the offensive charge with seven goals and three assists for a game high 10 points. The senior also totaled a game-high, record setting 19 draw controls.
 
Mitchell tallied three goals and five assists for eight points. De Caro and DeMott totaled four goals and two assists each while Thierry and Sophia Milia (Birmingham, Mich. / Business of Beauty & Fragrance) had two goals. Thierry added two assists while Milia had one assist.
 
Grace Boyer and Tatum Crouch totaled one goal each with Crouch picking up two assists as well.
 
Goalies Richards and McCullough totaled seven saves and 10 saves, respectively as they split time in the cage.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees return home to host No. RV Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m.
