No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Wins Big on the Road

QUICK SCORE: The No. 1 ranked women's lacrosse team traveled to Marietta, GA to play No. 8 Georgetown College at Life University and won 22-6 Sunday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 10-1 while Georgetown College is now 6-5.
 
DID YOU KNOW? Emma Devereaux had seven caused turnovers, tying the program record of most caused turnovers in a single game.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED? SCAD's Sydney Knego scored the first goal for the Bees just twenty seconds into the game. The Tigers fought back and scored three goals soon after.
 
Tatum Crouch and Mackenzie Demott scored again at 24:12 and 21:29, respectively. Georgetown quickly rebounded with two more goals, leaving them in the lead 5-4 with 20:47 remaining in the half.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

The Bees increased their lead to five (10-5) with seven goals by Knego (4), Jenna Nabridge (1), Jordan Mitchell (1), and Sophia Milia (1). Drew Dowgiallo scored the last two goals in the half, leaving the Bees ahead 12-5.
 
Harper Barth led the Bees with the first goal in the second half. Allison Thierry, Knego, Mitchell, and Nabridge all added a single goal for the Bees, dominating 17-5.
 
The Tigers final goal was scored at the 11:39 mark to make it 17-6.
 
In the last ten minutes, the Bees scored another five goals, finishing with a 22-6 lead. The final goals were scored by Mitchell (4) and Dowgiallo (1).

BOX SCORE: Mitchell led the Bees with a game-high seven goals and five assists for a game-high 12 points. The sophomore also added six draw controls and five ground balls.
 
Knego totaled five goals, while Dowgiallo totaled three goals and Nabridge totaled two.
 
Crouch, Thierry, Milia, and Demott added one goal and one assist each, while Barth tallied one goal and two assists.
 
Goalies Maggie LortzTracy Richards and Liv Vieira shared time in the cage with Richards and Lortz nabbing three and two saves, respectively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain on the road to take on #RV Life University on Thursday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m.
