No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Dominates at Home

QUICK SCORE: The SCAD women's lacrosse team won a dominating 19-6 game against No. 9 Siena Heights on Monday night.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-1 overall and the Saints open the season 0-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD scored the first six goals of the game with Allison Thierry picking up three of them and one assist.
 
Jordan Mitchell scored one of the six goals and added two assists while Drew Dowgiallo and Mae Dougherty added the remaining two.
 
The Saints answered with their first two goals at the 17:55 and 15:11 mark but the Bees rounded out the half with another seven goals from Sydney Knego, Sophia Milia, Harper Barth, Dougherty, Dowgiallo and Tatum Crouch to take a 13-2 lead into the half.
 
The Bees fired off three goals from Thierry, Knego and Mitchell in less than three minutes to increase their lead to 12 (16-2).
 
Siena Heights scored at the 22:40 mark but Knego and Thierry scored back to back to go up 18-3.
 
Crouch scored the last goal for the Bees with 8:56 remaining in the game to take a 19-4 lead.
 
The Saints scored the last two goals of the game to ultimately fall 19-6.
 
BOX SCORE: Thierry led the way for SCAD with five goals and one assist for six points.

Knego totaled four goals and two assists for six points while Mitchell tallied two goals and three assists for five points.
 
Crouch, Dowgiallo and Dougherty all had two goals and one assists for three points With Milia and Barth picking up one goal.
 
Knego and Stahl totaled a team-high four ground balls with Knego adding a game-high four draw controls.
 
Goalies Maggie Lortz (2-1), Tracy Richards and Liv Vieira split time in the cage and tallied two saves apiece.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? SCAD remains at home to host Indiana Tech on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m.
