No. 10 Men’s Lacrosse Upsets No. 3 Cumberlands

QUICK SCORE: The No. 10 ranked SCAD men's lacrosse team upset No. 3 University of the Cumberlands in a neutral site game hosted by Keiser Saturday afternoon.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 4-3 while Cumberlands is now 7-2 overall.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED?The Patriots scored the first goal of the game, less than four minutes into the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Liam Thomas scored back to back goals at the 3:28 and 3:11 marks to give SCAD the 2-1 lead going into the second quarter.
 
The Cumberlands scored three goals to start the second but SCAD scored the last two – Jordan Reeves and Wolf Zachar – to tie the game at four going into halftime.
 
After the Patriots scored a man-up goal at the 14:42 mark, the Bees score five unanswered goals by Reeves, Sean Parmer and Elliot Fish to go into the fourth quarter with a four-point lead (9-5).
 
SCAD scored five more goals in the fourth quarter to the Patriots four to earn the 14-9 upset win.
 
BOX SCORE: Four Bees scored multiple times with Parmer leading the way with four. Thomas and Reeves added three goals each while Fish totaled two.
 
Jude Kuhn and Zachard rounded out the scoring with one goal each. Parmer, Thomas, Fish, Kuhn and Zachar all had assists with Kuhn totaling two.
 
Jackson Bryan picked up a team-high seven ground balls while Thomas added six. Reeves and JT Smith totaled five each.
 
Bryan and Tolmer tied a game-high three caused turnovers.
 
Goalie Ross Wiseman totaled 12 saves in 60 minutes of action.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain on the road to take on Ottawa University at Keiser University on March 18 at 1:00 p.m.
