QUICK SCORE: The SCAD men's lacrosse team won its second road game in-a-row with an 18-10 win over Ottawa University on Monday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 5-3 while the Braves are now 1-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite not scoring any goals in the fourth quarter, SCAD won 18-10 scoring six goals in the first, second and third quarters.
The Braves opened the game with the first goal not even a minute into the action, but the Bees answered back with three goals of their own from
Sean Parmer and
Jude Kuhn.
Both teams traded goals until the 2:10 mark when
Liam Thomas scored back to back goals to give SCAD a 6-3 lead going into the second quarter.
Twenty seconds into the second quarter, Thomas scored again off an assist from
Banks Maynard to go up 7-3. Two more Parmer goals gave the Bees a 9-3 lead before the Braves scored again at the 10:05 mark (9-4).
JT Smith, Maynard and
Elliot Fish finished out the half with three more goals to take a 12-4 lead into halftime.
Ottawa managed two goals in the third quarter to the Bees' six – Parmer,
Wolf Zachar, Kuhn, Mat Tolmer and Thomas – to give SCAD a n 18-6 lead heading into the final quarter.
Eighteen goals were enough to earn the win as SCAD did not score in the fourth quarter while Ottawa scored four.
BOX SCORE: Parmer led the way on offense with five goals while Thomas followed with four goals and one assist. Fish totaled two goals and three assists. Parmer, Thomas and Fish tied a team-high five points.
Kuhn and Maynard totaled two goals with Maynard adding two assists.
Smith picked up 15 ground balls while going 31-34 at face off. Eight players totaled four or more ground balls with the Bees totaling 64.
Goalie
Ross Wiseman totaled seven saves.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Florida for two exhibition games on March 30 and April 6 before returning home to host Keiser on April 13 for Senior Day.
