Men’s Lacrosse Closes Weekend with Second Win

QUICK SCORE: The No. 6 ranked SCAD men's lacrosse team closed out the weekend with its second win in as many days as the Bees defeated No. RV Tennessee Wesleyan 15-8 on Sunday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 3-0 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 0-1 to start their season.
 
DID YOU KNOW? This is the fourth consecutive year in which SCAD has come out on top against Tennessee Wesleyan. This is also the third year in a row in which the Bees have opened the season with three wins.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED? The Bees struck first with Wolf Zachar and Liam Thomas scoring at the 13:41 mark and the 8:16 mark to take a 2-0 lead.
 
With just over two minutes remaining in the quarter, the Bulldogs scored their first goal to cut the lead in half.
 
Less than two minutes into the second-half, Tennessee Wesleyan tied the game but SCAD answered with three goals in three minutes to go up 5-2.
 
The Bulldogs managed to cut the lead to one (5-4) but the Bees' Thomas and defender Jackson Bryan scored the last two goals of the second quarter to take a 7-4 lead into halftime.
 
Thomas, Jude Kuhn and Elliot Fish scored the first three goals for SCAD in the third (10-5) with Long Stick Midfielder Bryant Aquino picking up the last goal of the quarter to lead 11-7 into the final quarter.
 
In the fourth, the Bees out-scored the Bulldogs 4-1 to take home the 15-8 win.
 
BOX SCORE: Freshman Liam Thomas led the way for the Bees, scoring four goals and assisting on three more for a total of seven points.
 
Wolf Zachar totaled four goals and one assist for five points while Jude Kuhn tallied three goals. 
 
Elliot Fish, Jordan Reeves, Jackson Bryan and Bryant Aquino made one goal each with Reeves and Sean Parmer adding one assist.
 
Reeves and JT Smith totaled a team-high seven ground balls with Smith going 12-27 in faceoffs.
Goalie Ross Wiseman nabbed 10 saves for his third win of the season.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain on the road for a 11:00 a.m. game at Keiser University on Saturday Feb. 16.
