Women’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Day with Dominating Win

QUICK GOAL: The SCAD women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a dominating 7-0 win over Webber International.
 
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the start of the game, the women's soccer team celebrated its seven graduating members of the team – Elisa Dogor, Hannah Amidon, Annie Sullivan, Tamara Castilla, Lindsay Crawley, Mikaela Heyboer and Carmen Cambiaso.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 8-5-1, 5-2-1 TSC while the Warriors are 6-5-2, 2-5-1 TSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The first goal of the game was an own goal on Webber at the 13:43 mark which was quickly followed by a header goal from Senior Mikaela Heyboer off an assist by Noel Thompson.
 
Just over 20 minutes later Sam Manelis scored to give the Bees a 3-0 lead going into halftime.
 
Almost four minutes into the second half, Madison Lambert, assisted by Senior Annie Sullivan, finds the back of the net to give SCAD the 4-0 lead.
 
The Bees Lead increases to five when Senior Hannah Amidon is awarded a penalty kick in which she placed into the bottom left of the cage away from the diving goalie.
 
In the 77thminute, Emily Miller finds the back of the net to go up 6-0.
 
SCAD's final goal came in the 89thminute when Senior Carmen Cambiaso scored off a pass from Amidon and Miller.
 
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Warriors 21-5 with nine of SCAD shots and only one of Webber's going on goal.
 
Manelis totaled six shots and one goal while Noel Thompson tallied three shots. 
 
Amidon took two shots and scored one goal, along with Lambert, while Sullivan took two shots and nabbed one assist and Natalia Zapata also took two shots.
 
Heyboer, Cambiaso and Miller went one for one on shots and goals while Sofia Johnson also took one shot.
 
Senior goalie Elisa Dogor earned the shut-out win with 58 minutes in the cage while Eliana Charlambous totaled one save in her 31:50 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to No. 4 Southeastern for a 7:30 p.m. game on October 30.
