QUICK GOAL: The SCAD women's soccer team defeated the Sand Sharks of University of South Carolina – Beaufort 2-1 in overtime Wednesday evening at home.

RECORDS:The Bees are now 7-5-1, 4-2-1 TSC while the Sand Sharks are now 7-7, 3-4 TSC.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Just under 11 minutes into the game, USCB scored the first goal to take an early 1-0 lead. 

Julia Rauch, assisted by a header from Annie Sullivan, found the back of the net to tie the game at the 80:12 mark.

Neither team scored for the remainder of regulation to force overtime.

With a minute and 29 seconds remaining in overtime, the Bees are fouled and get a free position shot. Defender Noel Thompson takes the free position at about 35 yards out and puts the ball over the goalie's head to end the tie and clinch the win for SCAD.

DID YOU KNOW? This is Rauch's and Thompson's first goals of their collegiate careers.

BOX SCORE: The Bees' defense held the Sand Sharks to only five shots, two on goal, while the offense tallied 27 shots, 12 on goal.

Goalie Elisa Dogor earned the win with 1 save in 98:31 minutes of work.

Hannah Amidon led the offensive charge with seven shots, three of which were on goal. Sam Manelis totaled six shots, three on goal while Sullivan and Madison Lambert totaled three shots.

Thompson totaled two shots with Riley Shelton, Caitlin O'Toole, Mackayla Dean, Rauch, Gabrielle Oudemool-Slye and Kyra Poro tallied one shot each.
