QUICK HIT: SCAD women's tennis players Johanna Weber and Priya Sukkanha won the ITA Regional Doubles Championship Saturday morning.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP: Weber and Sukkanha defeated the No. 1 seeded Keiser doubles team of Daniela Farfan and Sarah Schaerer in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) to win the Regional Championship.
 
"Eika [Johanna] and Priya played extremely well again today" stated Head Coach Ken Obermeier. "They embraced and executed the calm, cool, collected and competitive motto of the fall season. Everyone competed well, and I look forward to the teams' continued success."
 
Weber and Sukkanha will now move on to Rome, Georgia in the next step to qualify for the National Championships in California.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? Both teams will travel to Statesboro for the Georgia Southern Invitational with the women competing on October 12-15 while the men compete on November 2-4.
