QUICK HIT: The SCAD Savannah men's and women's tennis teams sent athletes to the ITA Regional Championships to compete in doubles and singles in Boca Raton, Florida.
The tournament is hosted by Keiser University and runs from Wednesday, September 26 to September 29.
DAY TWO DOUBLES:Junior
Valerie Droop and Freshman
Haley Morrissey start the SCAD women's doubles trend on day two with an 8-1 win over Keiser.
Following that lead, Junior
Johanna Weber and Freshman
Priya Sukkanha win 8-5 over Keiser as well.
Keiser upsets the other two Bees' women's doubles teams competing on day three. Junior
Nicole Katzarkov and Sophomore
Candace Mortier fell 8-2 while Sophomore
Brittany Waugh and Freshman Tova Tobrand lost 8-3.
DAY TWO SINGLES:Men's senior
Daiki Naka played solid in the third round and defeated Keiser 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Naka went on to lose Coastal Georgia 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
On the women's side, Tobrand lost in straight sets to Keiser in the third round while Weber and Droop fell in three sets to Keiser as well.
In a match that took over three hours SCAD beat SCAD as Katzakov edged out Morrissey to advance to the quarterfinals where she lost 6-1, 6-2 to Kesier.
WHAT'S NEXT?Droop and Morrissey along with Sukkanha and Weber will compete in the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships on Friday, September 28.
