Men's Lacrosse Defeats University of Michigan-Dearborn; Buckley Scores 100th Career Goal

Box Score QUICK SCORE: The No. 5 ranked SCAD men's lacrosse team defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn 17-11 late Wednesday night.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-2 overall while the Wolverines are now 3-4 overall.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Mitch Snider and Sean Parmer scored the first two goals of the game to give the Bees a 2-0 lead with 12:14 remaining in the first quarter.
 
The Wolverines scored two goals of their own to tie the game at two going into the second quarter.
 
SCAD scores the first four goals of the second quarter to take a 6-2 lead, a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
 
Michigan-Dearborn scored three goals of their own in the second quarter to trail by one (6-5) going into the half.
 
The third quarter put the game out of reach of the Wolverines as the Bees scored six goals, five unanswered, to lead 12-6 going into the fourth.
 
Both teams scored five goals in the fourth and SCAD held on to win 17-11.
 
100 CAREER GOALS: Brendan Buckley scored his 100th career goal on his third goal of the game when he scored the second goal of the third quarter with 9:59 on the clock. Sixteen seconds later, Buckley scored his 101st goal of his career to give SCAD a 9-5 lead.
 
BOX SCORE: Buckley led the Bees with a game-high four goals and a game-high four assists for a total of eight points.
 
Elliot Fish, Snider and Jack Cioffi totaled three goals each with Fish adding two assists and Snider and Cioffi adding one assist.
 
Parmer tallied two goals while Griffin Hunt and Eric Potts brought the goal total to 17 with one each.
 
Joseph Smith went 20-26 on face offs while also picking up six ground balls.
Goalie Connor Keehn nabbed nine saves in his 60 minutes of work to earn the win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees remain on the road and will play Indiana Tech on Friday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
