QUICK SCORE: The SCAD Savannah women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Saturday honoring its four seniors prior to the game against Ave Maria.
The Bees fought hard through the rain and beat the Gyrenes 3-1.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-8, 3-4 TSC while Ave Maria falls to 4-10, 2-7 TSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Hannah Amidon scored the Bees only goal during the first period (42:02).
The Gyrenes started the second period with their single goal (65:39).
Amidon soon followed up with the second goal for the Bees at 71:58.
Savannah Raines scored the Bees final goal after it rebounded off Ave Maria's goalkeeper (73:43).
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Gyrenes 25-8 and also led 9-4 for shots on goal.
Maddy Lambert led both teams in shots with seven while
Stephanie Guerra trailed with six. Amidon and Raines both had three shots with
Nikki Abel following with two.
Riley Shelton,
Helena Godmann,
Mackayla Dean, and
Emily Castro all had one shot each.
SENIORS: Prior to the start of the game, the SCAD women's soccer team and the Athletics Department recognized the four senior members of the team –
Briana Hunter,
Stephanie Guerra,
Thorhanna Omarsdottir, and
Meghan Grable. Grable, who is currently injured, started the game along with the three other seniors and was subbed out soon after.
