Savannah, Georgia - The fourth-ranked SCAD women's tennis team swept Webber International 9-0 Sunday afternoon at Bacon Park. With the win the Bees improve to 8-1 overall and 4-0 against the Sun Conference, while the Warriors fall to 0-7 and 0-5 in conference play.
SCAD started the match up 2-0, picking up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by forfeit. Julia Albuquerque and Karina Rovira won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles, while Camille Gbaguidi and Paige Murdock won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
The Bees swept the other five singles matches in straight sets only allowing the Warriors to win two games for the 9-0 final.
The Bees will return to the court Wednesday, March 16, when they face Campbellsville. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Bacon Park.
