Box Score Hardeeville, South Carolina – The ninth-ranked SCAD men's lacrosse team couldn't overcome a first half deficit as they fell to fourth-ranked Reinhardt 11-3 Wednesday night at the SCAD Athletic Complex. With the win the Eagles improve to 3-0, while the Bees fall to 0-3.
Reinhardt struck first as Connor Mills netted an unassisted goal with 5:02 remaining in the first quarter. SCAD responded two minutes later as Jack Cioffi scored an unassisted goal to even the score 1-1 after the opening period.
The Eagles scored nine straight goals over the next two periods to take a 10-1 lead after the third quarter.
Three minutes into the fourth quarter Brendan Buckley connected with Eric Potts for a goal to cut the deficit to 10-2. Reinhardt took advantage of a Bees penalty as Mills scored a man-up goal with 21 seconds remaining in the game. SCAD won the ensuing faceoff and Logan Phillips scored an unassisted goal with 0.4 seconds remaining for the 11-3 final.
SCAD returns to action Wednesday, Saturday 20, when they host The Citadel. The game is slated for noon at the SCAD Athletic Complex. Livestats will be available for the game here.
