Savannah, Georgia – The top-ranked SCAD men's and women's swimming is set to host NCAA Division I opponents Georgia Southern and Garner-Webb in its final home meet of the season Saturday, January 16, at 11 a.m. at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.

This meet will be the second part of a two days for these three schools, with the first part taking place Friday night at 6 p.m. in Statesboro, Georgia.

The SCAD women's swim team comes into the weekend of back-to-back first place finishes at the SCAD Invite and the Converse Quad. Leading the way for the Bees are Hannah Legg, Abigail Richey, Haley Thompson, and Caroline Lepesant. Legg has hit NAIA National "A" standard in eight different events, which is the most by any individual. She has the fastest 100 and 200 butterfly time on the team. Richey is coming off a pair of wins at the Converse Quad last weekend. Richey took top honors in the 100 and 200 freestyles. Thompson and Lepesant have also had solid seasons so far posting 12 NAIA "A" standards between them.

The SCAD men's swim team is coming off a 575-524 loss to Limestone last weekend. Leading the way for the Bees are Joel Ax, Tyler Prescott, and Mark Shvartsman. Ax has hit the NAIA "A" standard in eight different events and was named Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Week last week. Prescott had a pair of first place finishes last weekend in the 100 back and 200 free events. Shvartsman has one an event in each of the last two meets.

Georgia Southern comes into the weekend with a 3-2 record posting wins over North Florida, Campbell, and UNC Asheville.

Garner-Webb comes into the weekend with a third place finish at the Fall Frenzy Invitational.

Prior to the start of the meet SCAD will honor its 12 seniors, nine women and three men, on this year's team.
