Men’s Lacrosse Takes on Indian Tech

Savannah, Georgia - The men's lacrosse team will host Indiana Tech Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the SCAD Athletic Complex. It will be the third ever meeting between the two schools and the first time the Warriors are traveling to Savannah.

Indiana Tech won last year's meeting 10-7.  

SCAD comes into the game with 2-3 record after splitting their two games last weekend.  The Bees defeated Missouri Baptist 10-2, before falling to Kennesaw State 11-8.  The Bees are led by Justin McGinnis who has tallied a team-high 20 points (13 g, 7 a).  Jack Cioffi has netted six goals, while Nate Travis and Cody Sienkiewicz both have four goals.  Connor Goonan has recorded double-digit saves in four of five games for the Bees. 
 
Indiana Tech comes into this weekend's game with a 1-1 record after falling to Siena Heights last weekend. The Warriors will face Kennesaw State tomorrow night before coming to Savannah to face the Bees. The Warriors are led by Jace Childs, Dan Schaepkens and Tom Stahura.  Childs leads the Warriors with nine goals and 13 points, while Schaepkens has netted five goals and dished out three assist.  Stahura leads the Warriors defense with five caused turnovers and seven ground balls.  Goalie Blake Johnson has made 17 saves in the two games. 
 
In last year's game, Indiana Tech jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. The Bees responded scoring two goals in the final minute of the opening period to cut the deficit to 3-2. Two minutes into the second quarter Nate Travis found Matthew Dean for a goal to even the score 3-3.  The Warriors scored four unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead after the second quarter.  SCAD netted four of the seven goals in the second half for the 10-7 final.
