The Lady Bees ended their spring break with a decisive 9-0 victory against the Southeastern Fire.  SCAD won all doubles in impressive fashion and set the tone for the singles' matches.  In singles action all the ladies won in straight sets.  The Lady Bees' Nos. 2-5 singles teams amazingly only lost 2 games total in their 4 matches.  It was a great way to end the long Florida road trip.
 
SCAD is now back in the groove.  They have now won 4 straight matches.  The win against Southeastern is also their fourth win in conference play against no defeats.  The ladies are 5-3 overall with all the losses coming against NCAA competition.
 
Setting the stage for the sweep were the doubles teams.  Schmaus and Plavsic (No. 1) gave the Bees the win they needed at 8-5 to start the day.  Following on their foot heels were Maria Barragan and Daniella Arcila with an 8-2 win at No. 2.  And then Carolina Viteri and Ana Dominguez (No. 3) completed the trifecta with an 8-3 sweep to give the Bees a 3-0 lead in the head-to-head competitions to follow.
 
Schmaus won her 4th singles competition out of 5 on the roadtrip by defeating the Fire's No. 1 by a score of 6-3, 6-2.  Plavsic followed suit win an easy 6-0, 6-1 match.  This set the stage for Arcila, Barragan, and Viteri, who showed their prominence by also winning in straight sets, but only losing 1 game in the process.  At No. 6 singles, Isadora Salvetti won her 4th straight singles contest on the trip with no losses, 6-3 and 6-2. 
 
It was a very successful spring break for the ladies as they return to Savannah for a few days before returning to Babson Park, Florida on March 30 to make up a rain postponement with Webber International   Congratulations to the ladies on their 4-match win-streak.  Go Bees!
