The Lady Bees showed why they are ranked 3rd in the NAIA by sweeping host Emmanuel College (128-60) and St. Andrews University (134-20) in a dual meet this Saturday in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

All totaled the ladies won seven of the nine individual events and one of the two relays. Coach
Chris Conlon commented that he saw very solid swims from the women's team.Â

The seven victories in the individual events were spread among seven different SCAD swimmers, demonstrating the team's all-round prominence. One bright spot was that
Ana Torres-Rivera scored her first collegiate win. Torres-Rivera won the 500 Yd FR with a time of 5:36.60.

Becky Dionne (200 Yd FR – 2:00.14),
Hannah Legg (200 Yd FLY – 2:07.49),
Caroline Lepesant (1000 Yd FR – 11:04.16),
Heather Partlow (50 Yd FR – 25.22),
Meagan McManus (100 Yd FR – 55.48), and
Emma McKinley (200 Yd IM – 2:17.49).

Eight second place finishes by Dionne (220 Yd BACK),
Meredith O'Malley (500 Yd FR),
Claire Partlow (200 Yd FR), Lepesant (200 Yd FLY),
Madeline Naughton (1000 Yd FR), McManus (50 Yd FR),
Tarika Thienapirak (200 Yd IM), and
Haley Thompson (100 Yd FR) contributed points so that the Lady Bees were able to sweep the meet for SCAD.

Sixteen different ladies contributed points in the individual events for SCAD showing a truly remarkable team effort. If that were not enough, the ladies also won the 400 Yd Medley Relay. The team of Dionne, Legg, Dundee, and
Rachael Tortorella turned in the winning time in 4:17.44.

Congratulations to the Lady Bees for a great showing in Laurinburg. SCAD will take a short break before participating in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships in Charlotte, NC on February 12-15.
