SCAD's tennis teams split a dual match with Northwood University in Orlando, Florida. The women's team had a hard fought match, but prevailed 5-4 thanks in part to
Theresa Schmaus and
Daniella Arcila winning their match at #1 doubles.
Schmaus continued her winning ways at #1 singles 2-6, 6-4, and 7-5.
Maria Barragan won at #2 7-5 and 6-3;
Carolina Viteri won at #4 7-5 and 7-5; and freshman
Isadora Salvetti won her second singles match in as many days 6-1 and 6-2.
The victory brings SCAD's overall record to 5-2 and 3-0 in Sun Conference play.
The men's team had a tough day against Northwood. They won their only match at #3 doubles. The team of
Peter Yellico and
Manatsa Mazimbe won 8-5.
The loss for the men brings their overall record to 1-6 on the season and 1-2 in Sun Conference play.
