Men's Lacrosse, ranked #9 in MCLA Division II
, defeated conference rival Southern Virginia University Saturday in Lynchburg, Virginia. The win brings SCAD to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the SELC.
Goals were plentiful for the Bees. Ten players contributed to the 22 goals scored by SCAD. Leading the way were
Derek Shurson with 5 and 1 assist,
Trey McKay with 4 and 2 assists, and
Aaron Farabee with 4 and 2 assists. Jordy McMannus and
Chris Smith contributed 2 each, while
Dylan Cleary-Krell,
Justin Sicard,
Andy VandenHeuvel,
Doug Henry, and
Mike McQuaid added 1 each.
While the game was never in question there were certainly some notable marks for the game.
Justin Sicard won 8 of 9 faceoffs and had 8 ground balls.
Wade Winebrenner, ranked #4 for Goal Tenders in the SELC, had 12 saves out of the 15 SVU shots on goal.
SCAD's next game is against host Liberty College on Sunday. The Men return home 3/24 to take on conference rival Palm Beach University at the SCAD Sorts Complex. Come support your Bees!
