Men and Women’s Swimming Split Meet with FIT

Meet Results

The first home meet of the season took place at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.  The Men and Women's Swimming Teams played host to the Florida Institute of Technology on November 3.  Both men and women were coming off victories against Davis & Elkins College and were primed for the competition with NCAA FIT.
 
The Lady Bees set the bar high as they rolled in the eleven event meet.  At the end of the day the ladies had nine first place finishes among the eleven events and won the meet handily 150-50.  The winners of various events were plentiful for the Lady Bees.  The list of first place finishers is listed below.
 
400 Medley Relay – Kelsey Bobzien, Haley Thompson, Hannah Legg, Fanny Varga (4:06.71)
1650 Freestyle – Heather Librizzi (17:45.01)
200 Freestyle – Caroline Lepesant (1:58.71) Lepesant's first event victory at SCAD.
50 Freestyle – Haley Thompson (25:10)
200 IM - Hannah Legg (2:11.14)
200 Fly – Haley Thompson (2:10)
200 BK - Hannah Legg (2:07.44)
500 Freestyle - Caroline Lepesant (5:09.04)
200 Breast – Heather Partlow (2:32.62) Partlow's first event victory at SCAD
 
On the Men's side the meet was closely contested to the very end; however, the men could not close the gap which was through the first eight events at 9 points.  Florida Institute widened the gap in the final three events to win the meet with by a score of 122-80. 
 
In spite of the loss the Bees competed well and came away with a number of first and second place finishes.

The next meet for the Swimming Teams will be at the Brenau University Invitational November 16-17 in Gainesville, Georgia.
