ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second consecutive day the SCAD Savannah women's tennis team swept a conference opponent.
The Bees, who are ranked ninth in the NAIA, improved to 4-1 overall and to 2-1 in The Sun Conference as SCAD defeated No. 14 St. Thomas (Fla.) University 9-0 Saturday (March 19) at the Lake Cane Tennis Center. The Bobcats slipped to 7-7 and 3-2.
All the matches were decided in straight sets except for
Lucy Zhang who was stretched to three sets at No. 6 singles with her 0-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Lauren Lightfoot.
The Bees continue their spring break trip in central Florida with an 11:30 a.m. league match Sunday (March 20) against Ave Maria University at the Star Island Resort & Club in Kissimmee, Fla.
