HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Ten different players scored a goal as the SCAD Savannah men's lacrosse team easily defeated the College of Charleston (S.C.) 19-4 in a Southeastern Lacrosse Conference Division II Southeastern Division match Saturday (Feb. 12) afternoon at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
The 13th-ranked Bees improved to 2-0 overall and to 1-0 in the division as they limited the Cougars to just one goal in each quarter. Charleston, who are in its first season in the SELC, fell to 0-1 and 0-1. SCAD returns to the pitch next Saturday (Feb. 19) when they entertain Clemson University in a 7 p.m. match at the Complex.
Jordy McManus paced SCAD, which led 12-2 at the half, with four goals while
Trey McKay and
Shelton Polka each contributed three scores.
Justin Sicard and
Matt Dean each tallied two goals for the Bees while
Michael Molinaro,
Mike McQuaid,
Dan Ogren and
Aaron Farabee each found the back of the net.
Shelton Polka and McKay also recorded three assists each, while McManus,
Cole Whitworth and
Cody Hoerauf had one.
Erik Elmquist,
Shelton Polka and Sicard had four ground balls each for the SCAD defense.
Wade Winebrenner and
Kreyton Polka patrolled the net for the Bees. Each played a half and allowed just two goals.
