SCAD sweeps past Daytona State and Darton

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
The SCAD Savannah women's swimming team swept their double-dual meet against the Daytona State College and Darton College Saturday (Jan. 15) at the L. Gale Lemerand Aquatic Center on the DSC campus.

No. 3-ranked SCAD got past Daytona State 167.50-117.50 and Darton 200-63. SCAD improved to 5-6.

The Bees, who swept both relay events, captured 10 of the 16 events contested in the meet.  Eight different swimmers – Savanah Watts (1,000 freestyle – 11:07.46), Claire Partlow (200 freestyle - 2:00.00), Fanny Varga (100 backstroke – 1:02.51), Zenobia Duncan (100 breaststroke – 1:08.46), Mary Ashley Krogh (200 backstroke – 2:16.46), Liz Roberts (200 breaststroke – 2:28.14), Heather Librizzi (500 freestyle – 5:28.85) and Melanie Futscher (400 individual medley – 4:47.77) - took away wins for the Bees.

SCAD returns to action Saturday (Jan. 22) when they travel to Atlanta for a 1 p.m. double-dual meet against Emory University and Darton College. Emory is currently No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division III rankings.
