DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The SCAD Savannah men's swimming team swept their double-dual meet against the Daytona State College and Darton College Saturday (Jan. 15) at the L. Gale Lemerand Aquatic Center on the DSC campus.
The second-ranked Bees edged Daytona State 134-126 and defeated Darton 188-71 in the meet. SCAD improved to 8-2.
The Bees, who swept both relay events, captured eight of the 15 events contested in the meet.
Vitali Pushkar-Verbitsky was the lone swimmer to win two events for SCAD. Pushkar-Verbitsky captured the men's 100-yard backstroke (51.69) and 100 butterfly (49.96) events. Other winners included
Mike Lawrence (100 breaststroke – 59.10),
Chris Wilson (200 butterfly – 1:59.52),
Nat Emmett (200 breaststroke – 2:11.02) and
Stephen Sullivan (400 individual medley – 4:12.93).
SCAD returns to action Saturday (Jan. 22) when they travel to Atlanta for a 1 p.m. double-dual meet against Emory University and Darton College. Emory is currently No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division III rankings.
