Briarcliffe edges SCAD 5-4 at nationals

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Briarcliffe College edged the Savannah College of Art and Design 5-4 in a consolation match at of the 2010 Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division II National Championship Thursday (May 13) afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The game ended early with 12:54 remaining in the match after an injury by a Briarcliffe player.

Jordy McManus scored all four goals for the Bees. Derek Shurson and Michael Molinaro each tallied an assist. Darren Martin had five ground balls and five takeaways while Derek Superville tallied four ground balls and four takeaways. Dan Comite registered four ground balls and two takeaways while Cody Hoerauf had two ground balls and added a takeaway for the SCAD defense.

SCAD ended the season with an 11-6 record.
