DULUTH, Ga. – Scott Schulze scored with 2.2 seconds remaining in regulation to propel Kennesaw State University to a 10-9 upset over the Savannah College of Art and Design in the semifinals of the 2010 SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Division II Tournament Saturday (April 24).
The 14th-ranked Owls, who are seeded fourth in the six-team tournament, avenged an earlier 9-6 loss to the Bees last month. Kennesaw State will face No. 2 seed Elon University, which defeated Tennessee Wesleyan College 15-5 in the other semifinal, in the noon championship match Sunday (April 25).
The ninth-ranked Bees, who were the tournament's No. 1 seed, saw their university-record winning streak snapped at 10th and fell to 11-4. SCAD now must wait to see to see if they will earn an at-large berth to the MCLA National Championship next month in Denver, Colo.

Justin Sicard also netted one goal.
Shelton Polka, Shurson, McManus and
Mike McQuaid each tallied an assist.
Shurson led the defense with 10 ground balls while
Kreyton Polka had five.
Derek Superville had five takeaways while
Darren Martin had three.
Dan Comite and
Cody Hoerauf had three ground balls and two takeaways each.
Wade Winebrenner recorded 17 saves in goal.
