LAKELAND, Fla. – The SCAD Savannah men defeated Florida Southern College 109-94 in swimming meet Friday (Oct. 29) afternoon at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center.

SCAD improved to 1-1. The Bees returns to action Saturday (Oct. 30) with a 10 a.m. meet against the University of Tampa in Tampa, Fla.

SCAD won 7 of the 11 events that were competed in the meet.

Chris Wilson and Vitali Pushkar-Verbitsky were each double winners for the Bees. Wilson won the  200-yard freestyle (1:48.49) and 500 freestyle (4:57.91) events while Pushkar-Verbitsky captured the 50 freestyle (21.18) and the 100 butterfly (50.45). Alex Graudins (1,650 freestyle, 16:02.56) and Sam Crawford (100 freestyle, 49.18) were the other SCAD individual winners. The Bees closed out the meet as Crawford, Graudins, Wilson and Bartos Scharmach captured the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:29.28.
