Fifth-ranked Bees pick up Senior Day victory over the Cavaliers

SAVANNAH, Ga. -
The Savannah College of Art and Design defeated Darton College 198-59 in a women's swimming meet Saturday (Jan. 23) afternoon on Senior Day at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.

The fifth-ranked Bees won 13 of the 14 events competed. SCAD improved to 3-1 on the season and will return to action Saturday (Jan. 30) with a 2 p.m. meet against Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.

Four swimmers - Nicole Dumont (1,000-yard freestyle - 10:45.80; 500 freestyle - 5:15.43), Tori Aboud (200 freestyle - 1:58.70; 100 freestyle - 56.17), Mary Ashley Krogh (100 backstroke - 1:03.20; 200 backstroke - 2:16.95) and Melanie Futscher (200 butterfly - 2:18.55; 400 individual medley - 4:45.87)  - each picked up two individual wins for SCAD.

Liz Roberts (100 breaststroke - 1:06.26), Zenobia Duncan (200 breaststroke - 2:28.84) and Heather Librizzi (100 butterfly - 1:00.65) also picked up wins for the the Bees.

SCAD recognized and honored four seniors - Jill Jeffries, Megan Lawless, Camille Poche, and Roberts - prior to the meet.
